Oregon Mandates Masks for K-12 Schools for the 21-22 School Year

WHSD Families:
Earlier today, Governor Brown announced that Oregon will now mandate masks in K-12 schools for the upcoming school year.    This is a change from the previous guidance which provided schools the authority to make covid-protocol decisions locally.  The Oregon Department of Education will be providing more detailed information about the mask mandate in the coming days.  I will share this information as it becomes available.
This news does not change the operational schedule or school calendar (a copy of which is attached) for our schools.  The first day of school for students is Tuesday, September 7, 2021.  All three of our schools will offer full-time in-person instruction five days a week and an entirely remote learning option is available through the Warrenton Academy of Virtual Education.
Additional details about our plans for the 21-22 school year will be published early next week.
