On March 31st Oregon school districts will gain local control regarding masking in schools. While our district must consult with the local public health department before making any changes, we would like to hear from you on this issue.

Masks Become Optional But Quarantine Protocols Are Expected to Remain Required

It is important to note that while masking will become a local decision on March 31st, the COVID quarantine protocols are likely to remain required. If masks are made optional, unmasked students and staff are likely to miss more school and extracurricular activities due to quarantine than at any point in the school year. This is because unmasked, unvaccinated individuals within 6 feet of a positive case will be considered close contacts and without universal masking, schools will not be eligible for the "test-to-stay" program.
